Belarusian language to be taught in Ukraine again



Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv has announced the resumption of enrollment in the specialty of Belarusian language and literature. This was announced by the rector of the university, Volodymyr Bugrov, during a briefing.


The rector of the university emphasized the importance of the Belarusian language: “This is the language of the Belarusian people, of the soldiers of the Belarusian formations who are fighting for the freedom and independence of both Ukraine and their homeland as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”


The new enrollment of Belarusian students is good news, says Maksym Pleshko, head of the Center for Belarusian Communications. Maxim Pleshko: “I had the honor to speak as an expert before the accreditation commission of the ministry to justify the relevance of this course.”


The Belarusian language will be taught at the Department of Slavic Philology of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology under the educational program “Belarusian Language and Literature, Ukrainian Language and Literature, English Language”.
