The community of railway workers in Belarus spoke about the movement of military equipment after Lukashenka's statement about downed drones.
We will remind, Lukashenka's Ministry of Defense disseminated information about allegedly shot down Ukrainian drones, after which on 08.10.2024 a statement was made "regarding the strengthening of the grouping of troops in the Gomel and Mozyr tactical directions in order to respond to any possible provocations." The railway community researched troop movement routes after that.
According to the information of the Community, several mechanized battalions (presumably the 120th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus) were made ready to perform tasks for the assignment of the unit. The march to the designated areas was supposed to be carried out in a "combined way", including the use of rail transport.
On August 11, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m. local time, military echelon No. 962, consisting of 37 wagons, was sent from Borysiv station (Minsk branch of BCH) to Novobilitska station (Gomel branch of BCH) including: 3 passenger wagons (with military personnel RB), 3 covered wagons (with equipment and ammunition) and 31 platform wagons (with military equipment). Route: Borisov - Minsk - Osypovychy - Zhlobin - Gomel - Novobelytska. Estimated time of arrival of echelon No. 962 on August 12, 2024 at the final shuttle station Novobelytska was at 8:25.
After the arrival of the train, operations were carried out to reshape the train. As a result, 28 wagons were left at the Novobilitska station for unloading. A group of nine wagons from this echelon, including those loaded with tracked vehicles (T-72B tanks), was sent to the Kozenky station (Gomel branch of the BCH) for further unloading.
The group of wagons after uncoupling from the original warehouse to Kozenky station included: one passenger wagon and 8 platforms with tanks.
No other military transports were recorded that day.
"Thus, this movement of a small amount of military equipment and personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus does not correspond to the significant strengthening of the grouping of troops in the Gomel and Mozyr directions, which is declared by the authorities. The described "maneuver" in its essence corresponds more to a disinformation or information-psychological operation (IPSO) on the part of the regime operating in Belarus," the railwaymen summarized.
