First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrey Sybiga reacted on Facebook to the signing of agreements by the Lukashenka regime with Crimea occupied by Russia.
"The signing of agreements by Belarusian regions and cities with the occupying bodies of the Crimean "authority" is a demonstration of the recognition of the Russian occupation by the Republic of Belarus. These criminal actions against the Ukrainian state will have consequences for entities that disregard international law," the diplomat said on the social network.
He also emphasized that Russia deliberately encourages other states to establish relations with the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. After all, she is interested precisely in signing such documents, which record the indirect recognition by anyone of the "legitimacy" of the Russian occupation.
"We are aware of at least seven agreements between the regions and cities of Belarus with the occupying authorities on the TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea," Sybiga stressed.
He also informed that only in June the city of Vitebsk and the Vitebsk region of Belarus, disregarding the norms of international law, concluded "agreements" with the occupation authorities of the cities of the Ukrainian Crimea - Simferopol and Feodosia, as well as the "Council of Ministers" and the "Ministry of Culture and Tourism" of the Autonomous Republic Crimea and Saksky district of the peninsula. This list can also include the protocol on intentions to create a free economic zone "Vitebsk - TOT Crimea". In addition, the heads of the Minsk City Council and the City Executive Committee signed agreements on cooperation with the occupying authorities of Sevastopol.
"There is no doubt that such actions could not have taken place without the permission of the top leadership of the state, that is, all these "agreements" are an open and documented demonstration of the recognition of the Russian occupation by the Republic of Belarus," the First Deputy Minister emphasized.
According to him, all facts of illegal actions that threaten the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine are accurately recorded by law enforcement agencies of our state, an appropriate investigation is being conducted, the results of which will not leave those involved unpunished and will be brought to justice.
"Ukraine has already taken appropriate measures to respond to the mentioned illegal actions. Officials participating in the preparation and signing of such "documents" will be examined for the application of sanctions restrictions by our partners in the sanctions coalition," the diplomat noted.
In fact, Lukashenka was forced to become Crimea's saving straw - "although someone cooperates with us", but "international recognition" is played by one person. It is unlikely that he will be able to gain anything economically from signing such contracts. But sanctions and political consequences will not make themselves wait.
