Has Lukashenko calmed down? Withdrawal of troops from the border

On Saturday, July 13, Lukashenka first visited the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, and then inspected the deployment of the 56th anti-aircraft regiment. Finally, a military meeting "on security issues in the southern direction" was held at the headquarters of this regiment. It was there that Lukashenka unexpectedly announced the easing of tensions on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.

The participants of the meeting were State Secretary of the Security Council Valfovich, Chairman of the KGB Tertel, Minister of Internal Affairs Kubrakou, Minister of Defense Grenin, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Muraveika, Chairman of the State Border Committee Molastov, Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces Denisenko, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces Lukyan .

Lukashenka, after listening to his security forces, declared that there are no more difficulties at the border. "The State Security Committee and military intelligence reported to me that after our work, the Ukrainians withdrew their armed forces and additional troops from the border (many thousands of people) and generally withdrew them from the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. zone. In other words, the troops that stepped up their operations have left the border, the self-proclaimed man said. - If it is so... And it is definitely so. Because I asked the guys about this regiment, not only the Minister of Defense, but they also say that we don't have any difficulties with the Ukrainians. And I hope it won't be," added the self-proclaimed man.

Lukashenko separately emphasized that the Belarusian side allegedly did not want this escalation and it absolutely did not need it. "Moreover, Ukraine does not need it. They have enough of these problems, " he noted. "I had to reassure the population as much as possible that there will be no war, we will not allow escalation on our border. After all, it is our job - people in uniform - to make sure that it is calm and that our people can work and reap (a good harvest) today."

So, as of today, we have a certain hope that Belarusian high officials will begin to harvest, and not threats and rattling of weapons.

Following the results of the meeting, Lukashenka announced that he had given the order to withdraw the troops on the southern borders to permanent deployment points. Their troops are withdrawn. Therefore, guys, look, and our troops must be withdrawn from the border. So that they understand (as we agreed) that we will not fight and are not going to concentrate our Armed Forces here, except for special operations," said the Belarusian leader.

Defense Minister Hrenin immediately took a visor under his visor and reported that he was immediately beginning the withdrawal of troops.

What exactly preceded such a turn, Lukashenko explained as follows: "There are enough normal people in Ukraine. Especially among the military. We agreed!"

All Lukashenka officials began to welcome their leader's decision and present it as a personal victory.

"The West will not be able to draw us into the conflict, " said Gaidukevich about stabilization on the border.

Tertel emphasized that the Belarusian retaliatory measures and the demonstration of a peaceful position had an effect

Shpilevskaya said that "we were heard, the conversation took place", "the president kept his word given to the people."

Zhuk, editor-in-chief of "Belarus Segodnya": "The result speaks better than any words: the tension is relieved"

Russian Z-bloggers, as expected, began to sow treason in the ultra-patriotic environment, accusing Lukashenka of surrendering Russia's interests and making secret agreements "with the enemy".

What exactly prompted the Belarusian dictator to lower the degree of tension on the border is not yet known. But if this allows Ukraine to release certain military forces, then the situation is clearly in its favor.
