Lukashenko separately emphasized that the Belarusian side allegedly did not want this escalation and it absolutely did not need it. "Moreover, Ukraine does not need it. They have enough of these problems, " he noted. "I had to reassure the population as much as possible that there will be no war, we will not allow escalation on our border. After all, it is our job - people in uniform - to make sure that it is calm and that our people can work and reap (a good harvest) today."

Following the results of the meeting, Lukashenka announced that he had given the order to withdraw the troops on the southern borders to permanent deployment points. Their troops are withdrawn.
