Lukashenka-style Christianity

Terrible repressions against believers and priests continue in Belarus. In particular, the Catholic priest Andrzej Yukhnevich continues to be in the pre-trial detention center. He is in a state of exhaustion and torture, and has only been allowed to take a shower once in two months. Andrzej is recognized as a political prisoner, the charges against him remain unknown - the lawyer is under a non-disclosure agreement. Many foreign media drew attention to the situation with his arrest.

On June 7, 2024, while crossing the border, Dmytro Chovhan, a minister of the EHB church, father of many children, was detained. During his trip to Poland, he was caught right at the border and taken to the ITT. For several hours, his relatives did not know about his whereabouts. On June 10, 2024, he was placed under administrative arrest for 15 days. The reasons and reasons for the persecution are unknown.

On June 14, 2024, Mykola Khil, the preacher of the Church of the Evangelical Church of Ukraine, was recognized as a political prisoner. On April 24, 2024, he was detained and was in Okrestin. He was taken into custody and placed in the pre-trial detention center in Kolyadychy. The preliminary charge is insulting Lukashenka (Article 368 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).

On June 20, 2024, it became known about the detention of Orthodox singer Keita Daniel-Landsey.

Even the new bishop for Belarus, recently appointed by the Vatican, was also detained by security forces in Lida a year ago.

And against the background of all this horror, propagandist Hryhoriy Azaryonok launched a new project on Belarusian state television and, it seems, actually imagined himself a prophet. At least as a preacher.

The program "Word and Deed" begins with a screen saver, the background of which is the painting "Eternal Russia" by the Russian artist Ilya Glazunov. On the canvas against the background of the temples, under a huge crucifix, state and political figures, Russian commanders of different eras are represented. By the way, Glazunov himself, while positioning himself as Orthodox, shared many ideas of Slavic neo-paganism, and in his political views he was an opponent of democracy and a convinced Putinist. Currently, his picture is often used as part of the propaganda of the "Russian world".

Azaryonok does the same, showing this canvas. True, in words he promotes not the Russian world, but the cult of Alexander Lukashenko. The propagandist conducts the new program in a deliberately restrained tone, masquerading under the style of spiritual programs, without showing open aggression, as in his other projects. But the intonations still show anger and a persistent "sectarian" desire to convince in their arguments.

In glorifying Lukashenka and his activities, Azaryonok once again changes the concept, as he did before. Nowadays, he compares a dictator with a spiritual person who does not work, but rather serves. In addition, he uses words from the Gospel, distorting the essence of what Jesus Christ said:

Let us emphasize that Lukashenka was never shamed for Christ, at least because he never preached it, considering himself an "Orthodox atheist." Not only that, it was never recorded that the ruler ever crossed himself - even for the sake of proforma - during his many visits to temples.

But this does not prevent Azaryonka from sculpting Lukashenka as "God's anointed" and even more so - some kind of independent deity:

"The sacredness of power. A special topic has not been solved by high-minded political scientists. This is what Oleksandr Lukashenko said: presidents are born. And it's true. This is much broader and deeper than the banal idea of the division of power, democracy and other things of little significance in modern times (…) The ancient concept of katechon — “retaining” — can help us, because the mystery of lawlessness is already in action, but it will not be fulfilled until it is taken from the environment that holds now (…) Oleksandr Lukashenko is a holder. With his powerful hands, his huge back, his large stature, he holds the sky above us."

The propagandist seriously attributes the characteristics of God to the dictator: "he is responsible for the life of each of us", "only he has to think about all of us". Of course, the BOC did not make any statements about the open idolatry that Azaryonok spreads under the guise of Orthodoxy.

Such "Christianity" in the Lukashenka style is now being fed to the Belarusian people, while persecuting the real spiritual leaders
