Situation in Belarus to be discussed at key international events

The leader of the Democratic Forces of Belarus, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, has stated that several key events will be held in the near future to discuss the situation in Belarus. This statement was made following her visit to the United States and talks at the White House.


Thus, the Belarusian issue will be raised at the G7 summit in Italy, which began on June 13, the peace conference on Ukraine, which will take place on June 15-16 in Switzerland, the NATO summit scheduled for July 9-11 in the United States, as well as at the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly.


Tsikhanouskaya noted that the U.S. government prioritizes the issues she raised during her meetings in Washington. These include support for the families of the repressed, the release of political prisoners, especially those on the "humanitarian list" who need immediate release for health reasons, and the issue of information isolation of prisoners, which the politician called a separate type of torture.
