Democratic forces led by Svetlana Tikhanovskaya decided to organize an exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the authoritarian regime in Belarus. The opening of the exhibition “30 years of dictatorship in 30 posters” with the participation of Belarusian and Lithuanian politicians will take place on July 24 at 17:00 in Vilnius.
The author of the posters is Belarusian designer Artur Vakarov. He created 30 posters over six months to show the horrific results of the dictator's rule in different areas of life.
All of them will clearly demonstrate the catastrophic consequences of authoritarianism, remind us of the danger of indifference, the danger of trusting propaganda, as well as the downside of the desire for a “strong hand.” After all, this is what gradually turned Belarus into a regime object, and its citizens into silent “slaves” of the totalitarian regime.
“We are living witnesses of how easy it is to elect a dictator and how difficult and expensive it is to get rid of him,” stressed the leader of the democratic forces, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya.
