The Belarusian people should start negotiations on joining the European Union immediately after liberation from the Russian occupation - said Uladzimir Zelensky during a speech in Brussels. There, the President participates in the opening of the EU summit.
Vladimir Zelensky thanked European partners for the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union, which took place on June 25 in Luxembourg. "Europe has proven its ability to take the right decision at the right time," he said, and also congratulated Moldova, which also received the EU's consent and started accession negotiations.
"I am sure that a similar decision will be made in relation to Belarus, as it is a European nation that should have a European future," Zielensky said. He also noted that one day Georgia should start negotiations with the EU, "the time will come."
This is not the first time that Zelensky has declared about the European future of Belarus. Earlier, he already emphasized the need for Georgia and Belarus to join the EU together with Ukraine.
